Math - This week, we will go over perimeter and then move on to our new unit on fractions. We will begin our new unit by using area models to show equivalent fractions. We will then use length models to show two fractions that are equivalent.
Reading - This week, students will begin their book clubs. Over the next few weeks, students will read their books and apply the reading skills they have learned this year.
Writing - This week, we will review the characteristics of a personal narrative. Students will go through their writing journals to look back on past brainstorming lists and drafts, or come up with new moments to write about. They will then select one small moment to write about.
Science - This week, students will have an opportunity to be ecologists for a day. They will visit an area around our school, observe and list all living and nonliving things in the area. They will then discuss how the living and nonliving things support each other.
Social Studies - This week, we will be studying the connection between labor and and income.
