Math - Last week, we completed our unit on division. This week, we will begin our unit on Geometry. Students will learn to identify 2D and 3D shapes, as well as their characteristics - faces, edges, vertices, sides, angles, etc.
Reading - Last week, we completed our biography research and posters. This week, we will begin to explore legends and myths. We will compare settings, analyze characters and identify character traits, as well as analyze character relationships.
Writing - Last week, students completed their personal letters and started to learn about Pourquoi stories. A Pourquoi is an imaginative tale that explains how something came to be, such as, why zebras have stripes. This week, students will begin writing their own Pourquoi tales. They will narrow down their ideas for their Pourquoi and choose one to write about. They will also begin to plan and draft their stories.

Social Studies - This week, we are studying historical figures that have founded or shaped communities in the past. We will also learn about the various regions of the United States and Texas. Students will think about how communities adapt based on the region that they live in.
