Math - This week, students will be using number lines to model equivalent fractions. We will then move on to comparing fractions using area models, fraction strips, and number lines.
Reading - This week, students will begin a novel study. Over the next few weeks, they will read the novel and apply the skills they’ve learned throughout the year.
Writing - Last week, we reviewed what a personal narrative is and students looked at the brainstorming they did for their personal narratives at the beginning of the year. This week, students will choose a small moment to write about, and draft their personal narratives. Students will go back to their drafts to add specific details and strong leads.
Science - This week, students will discuss how one change in an ecosystem can change based on natural events such as floods and droughts. They will also build food chains and learn about how organisms within a food chain are related.
Social Studies - This week, we will be talking about supply, demand, scarcity, and savings.
